Onion -1
Tomato- 2-3
Garlic -4 cloves
Ginger - 1/4 inch
Cumin seeds -1/2 tspoon
Clove- 2
Cinnamon-1/4 inch
Garam masala -2 tspoons
Red chilli powder -3 tspoons or less
Cilantro -1/4 cup
Coriander seeds powder- 1tspoon
Kasuri methi -very little [optional]
Fresh cream-3tspoons [optional]
Salt as per taste
Oil/ butter -1tablespoon

Method:
  1. Take a wok/broad deep pan, add oil/butter -when its hot add cumin seeds, cut onions slices, cut tomato pieces, ginger, garlic, clove and cinnamon.
  2. Add some water, close the lid and cook well. Let it cool down.
  3. Transfer the above mixture to blender/mixer grinder and make it a smooth paste of masala.
  4. To the same used above add oil/butter and put cut cubes of paneer, and just shallow fry for 1 -2 minutes and remove it into a plate. Can use the paneer cubes without frying too. I like to shallow fry it before adding to the gravy.
  5. To the empty wok used above, add  spoon of oil, Fresh/frozen green peas and let it cook well.
  6. Add kasuri methi and stir for 2 min
  7. Add the prepared masala, coriander seeds powder and garam masala.
  8. Add some water to the thick/thin gravy consistency, whichever you like.
  9. Bring it to boil and add then add the paneer cubes. Cook well.
  10. Add fresh cream and stir [can omit this step if you are not using cream] and cook for 3 minutes
  11. Garnish with cilantro.
  12. Ready to serve tasty Matar Paneer.
