Palak Paneer

Palak Paneer/Spinach with Indian cottage cheese is very vegetarian Indian tasty dish. This cheesy and rich, a tasty delight to eat. Main ingredients are Paneer, Spinach, Tomato, Onion and spices. Palak paneer is yummy with Roti, kulcha, pulka, chapathi and poori too.I will be explaining here very easy way to prepare without wasting much time.The complete description of the recipe is provided here.

Preparation time:30 minutes
Servings: 1 bowl for 3 rotis

Cottage cheese/Paneer -250gms
Spinach -2-3 big bunches
Tomato-4 medium size
Onion -1
Ginger -1 inch
Garlic -7 cloves
Cumin seeds-1/2 tspoon
Red chilli powder -3 tspoons or lesss
Garam masala -2 tspoons
Cumin powder -1 tspoon
Coriander powder -1 tspoon
Cinnamon -1 inch


  1. Cut the cottage cheese/Paneer to small cubes
  2. Take a wok/deep large pan, add 2 tspoons of butter. when butter melts add the paneer cubes and stir for few minutes so that paneer become creamish yellow. Then transfer it to a bowl.
  3. Clean, wash and cut the spinach.
  4. To the same wok used to fry paneer, add a tspoon of butter.
  5. When the butter melts add cumin seeds,clove, cinnamon, ginger and garlic. stir for a minute
  6. Add Chopped onion and let it cook for 3 minutes.
  7. Add Chopped tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes
  8. Add chopped spinach and cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Switch off the flame and allow to cool the above prepared mixture.
  10. When it cools, transfer to a blender/Mixie and make a smooth paste.
  11. Transfer the paste to the wok again, add all dry powder spices and salt.
  12. When it is boiling add paneer cubes and cook for 5 minutes.
  13. Tasty Palak Paneer is ready to serve
