Kadai Shrimp

Kadai shrimp is a finger licking spicy, tasty, yummy curry. Use the same method to replace the shrimp with prawns to make Kadai Prawns 
Here is an easy and Tasty kadai shrimp recipe preparation.
Preparation: 30mins
Servings: 4 cups

Shrimps- 1/2 kg
Cumin seeds -1/4tspoon
Mustard seeds -1/4tsp (optional)
Red chilly Powder- 1tsp
Cumin Powder -1/2tsp
Chopped Onion -1 large
Ginger garlic Paste-2 tsp
Chopped Green chilly-2 nos
Curry leaves -8
Chopped Tomato- Big 2  nos
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder- 1/4 tsp
Chopped Coriander leaves 3tsp
Oil- 2 tablespoons
Salt as per taste


  1. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard,cumin seeds and Curry leaves.
  2. Add chopped onions and saute until golden in color.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and chopped green chilly.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes.
  5. Add Salt and all the dry powders one by one in low flame and mix well.
  6. Saute for few minute and add cleaned/deveined shrimps.
  7. Add 2 cups water or until the shrimps dip in water completely.
  8. Close the lid and cook it until the shrimp cooks well and oil floats on top layer.
  9. Switch off the flame when curry thickens and add coriander leaves.
  10. Mix well and switch off the flame.
  11. Ready to Serve it hot with rice or the choice of your roti.
