Lamb meat Curry

Lamb meat curry is a tasty recipe and makes a good combination for rai balls, rice or roti. Lamb meat is cooked along with hot spices to get a tasty curry. The complete description is provided here. Do prepare and enjoy the recipe.

Preparation time:40 minutes
Servings: For 5 -6

Pressure cook:
Lamb meat -500gms
Sliced onion-1 cup
Chopped tomatoes -1 cup
Turmeric powder

For Curry Masala:
Coconut grated -1 cup
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Garlic -5 cloves
Clove -2
Cinnmon -1/4 inch
Coriander powder -2tspoon
Red chilli powder -2 tspoon
Salt as per taste

For tempering:
curry leaves
Mustard seeds

Avarekaalu/surti papdi [optional and if available]


  1. Wash the meat, drain the water.
  2. Take a pressure cooker, add 1 spoon of oil, sliced onions, tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt.
  3. Add meat pieces and mix well until raw smell goes off, Add water to dip the meat pieces. 
  4. Pressure cook for 5 whistles or until meat cooks well.
  5. Grind all the ingredients mentioned in curry masala.
  6. Take a kadai/cooking vessel - add 2 tspoons of oil, mustard seeds and curry leaves.Then add the grinded curry masala and cooked meat along with stew.
  7. Add required amount of water. Bring it boil for 10 minutes.
  8. Enjoy the tasty Mutton curry with ragi balls, rice, roti , idli, dosa, chapati.
