Carrot Halwa

Carrot Halwa is one of the famous dessert in asian countries especially in India. It is prepared with Grated carrot, Sugar, Milk, Khoya and dry fruits.The preparation takes more time and the dessert will be awesome. The detail of recipe is provided below, do prepare it and let me know how it tasted.
Preparation time: 1hour
Servings: 15cups

Ingredients:[Reduce the quantity of ingredients as per your need]
Grated carrot - Used 10 Big carrots
Sugar- Around 250gms [Can add less or more sugar as per your taste]
Milk - 400ml
Milk powder -100gms[optional but gives a awesome taste, can use Khoya or freshed prepared paneer granules also]
Cardamum powder-1/2tspoon
Dry fruits -Cashewnuts, Raisins 50gms each[as much as you need]
Ghee -50-100 ml

Method: [Prepared is simmer and requires thorough stirring]

  1. Take a wide mouth cooking kadai/bowl/vessel - Add ghee,When ghee is hot roast cashewnuts and raisins just for a minutes and transfer to a bowl.
  2. Add grated carrot, saute well for around 4 minutes.Add milk to immerse the carrot. 
  3. Cook well in simmer and look for two points - Carrot to fully cook and milk is almost reduced.
  4. Add sugar only when carrot is completely cooked. Mix well and saute for around 5-6 minutes. 
  5. Taste the halwa and check if u need more sugar, if yes add as per your taste. 
  6. Once it done, add cardamum powder &  Milk powder/paneer granules/khoya and mix thoroughly well. Saute for around 5 more minutes and add a tspoon of ghee mix well.
  7. Healthy and tasty carrot halwa ready to serve.
