Rajma Gravy with Potato and meal maker

Rajma is one of the favorite lentil in  north indian recipes.  The rajma or kidney beans are very healthy and its good to include in our meals once in a while. Rajma Gravy was prepared using Kidney beans, Potato, Soyabean chunks/ meal maker and coconut spicy gravy. The rajma gravy can be served with rice or roti or any indian bread like chapathi, pulka, naan, kulcha too.The detailed recipe is provided in this post.

Servings: Serves for 12 chapathis

Ingredients:
Rajma/Red Kidney beans - 200gms[Soaked overnight and boiled for 2 whistles with water and salt]
Potato-1small chopped like cubes
Meal maker- 1 cup [Previously boiled for 10 min in water]
ChoppedCoriander leaves
Chopped Tomato-2
Grated coconut - 1tablespoon
Garlic -6
Ginger -1/2 inch
Dry Roasted Peanuts-1 tablespoon
Red chilli powder-3tspoon
Jeera powder-2 tspoon
Turmeric powder-pinch
Garam masala - 2tspoon
Coriander powder/ dhaniya powder - 1 tspoon
Vegetable masala powder[any brand]- 1tspoon
Salt as per taste
Oil-2 tablespoon

Method:

  1. First take a mixer and grind peanuts, coconut, ginger, garlic, tomato, coriander leaves, salt by adding little water make it a thick masala paste.
  2. Take oil in pan, when oil is hot add potatoes and let it cook.
  3. Add  masala paste, Rajma, Meal maker, water, jeera powder, dhaniya powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, vegetable masala powder and Salt as per taste
  4. Add half of chopped tomato and stir well. Boil it for few minutes by closing the lid.
  5. Serve hot Rajma masala with rice, or any indian breads.
