Chicken in Coconut gravy

Chicken can be prepared in different ways, but however we prepare chicken usually tastes superb. I have tried here preparing a gravy/curry with chicken with coconut and other spices. The procedure is very simple, easy and quick. The taste was very yummy and I loved it a lot. The detail procedure is here, friends you also try and let me know how you liked it.

Preparation time: 45 min
Servings: 5 cups gravy with chicken pieces
Chicken -500 gms
Chopped onion -1/2 cup
Turmeric powder

For Gravy:
Dry red chillis -10
Grated fresh coconut -1cup
Tomato -2
Coriander leaves /cilantro -1/2cup
Garlic -4 clove
Ginger -1/4 inch
Clove -3
Cinnamon -1/2 inch
Salt as per taste
water as much as required

  1. Grind the ingredients mentioned above in gravy to get a smooth paste.
  2. Take a pan and add oil,when oil is hot add chopped onion until it is golden colour.
  3.  Add chicken pieces, turmeric powder and a bit of salt.
  4. Mix well, close the lid and cook well by stirring in between.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked well, add the ground spices for gravy and desired quantity of water and bring to boil for 10-12 minutes so that spices in coconut gravy to cook well.
  6. Serve hot with Rice, roti, chapathi etc..
