Potato Fry


Potato is very liked vegetable all over the world. When we have potato the food can be more tastier. This potato fry takes less than 10 minutes to prepare. Quick, simple and easy. It can make a great side dish for Rice and dal or roti, chapati.
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1 cup for 2 rotis


Potatoes -2 Large
Cumin Seeds -1 tspoon
Salt as per taste
Oil 1 tablespoon
Asafoetida/Hing -a pinch
Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tspoon
Red chilli powder - 1 tspoon
Garam Masala - 1/2 Tspoon (Can substitute Maggi Magic Masala)


  1. Peel the Skin of Potatoes and wash it
  2. Cut it into thick slices.
  3. Take a large cooking pan , add oil
  4. When the oil is hot add cumin seeds.
  5. Add Cut potatoes and mix well
  6. Add salt, red chilli powder, asafoetida and garam masala.
  7. Mix everything well and close the lid to cook.
  8. Keep stirring in between cooking by opening the lid
  9. It takes about 6 to 7 minutes to cook the potatoes in a closed lid cooking method.
  10. When the potato is cooked well garnish with cilantro
  11. The quick potato fry is ready to serve.
