BabyCorn Fritter/Baby corn Bajji


Baby Corn Bajji / Babycorn Fritters is a perfectly taste dish for snacks.This is prepared by dipping  the Babycorn in the batter of gram flour, rice flour, salt, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and baking soda. The complete recipe is described here. do prepare this easy recipe and enjoy as evening snacks or side dish for food.You can also cut bajji/Fritters into pieces, add some chopped onion, coriander leaves, chat powder and mix well and serve

Preparation time: 20 min
Servings: 2 Baby corn fritters per person

Baby Corns-10 -15
Gram flour/Besan -250 gm
Rice Flour- 50 gm
Baking soda: 1/4 tspoon
Cumin powder -1 tspoon
Red chilli powder -2 tspoons
Ginger garlic paste-1tspoon
Salt as per taste

  1. Prepare the batter by mixing gram flour, Rice flour, Ginger garlic paste, salt, baking soda, red chilli powder 1/2 tspoon, Cumin powder and water. The batter should be of a consistency which can make a thick layer on Baby corn.
  2. Wash the Baby corn and wipe with tissue towel. Vertically slice the Baby corn into two Halves
  3. Make a mixture of salt, red chilli (1 tspoon) and cumin powder and sprinkle on Baby corn and spread.
  4. Take a deep pan , add oil and when the oil is medium hot, Dip the Baby corn into the flour batter and put in the oil carefully.
  5. Let it cook well. It may take around 3-4 min to cook. it will be golden color once done.
  6. Once it is cooked well , remove from oil, drain the excess oil on a tissue towel.
  7. Baby corn bajji/Fritters is ready serve along with Tomato Ketchup/mint chutney/chilli chutney/coriander chutney.
