Baby Potatoes taste very good when we prepare in this method. this is very easy way to prepare curry for rotis, chapatis and is a good side dish for Rice too. Here is the full description of cooking the baby potato and green peas curry.
Complete cooking time: 40 minutes
Servings : 4 Servings
Ingredients:
Baby potatoes - 1/2 kg
Green peas frozen or fresh - 1 cup
Chopped onion -1 cup
Chopped tomato -2 cups
Chopped cilantro - for garnishing
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 teaspoons
Oil -1 tablespoon
Water - 2cups
Turmeric powder -1/4 teaspoon
Salt as per taste
Red chili powder - 2 teaspoons
Asafetida - a pinch
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoons
Pav bhaji masala or Garam masala - 2 teaspoons
Method:
- Take a pressure cooking , add baby potatoes , add water and 1 teaspoon of salt and cook for 1 whistle.
- Switch off the stove and wait for pressure to subside
- Open the lid of the cooker and peel the potato skin and transfer the potatoes to a bowl
- Take a Cooking vessel/ Kadai and add oil.
- When the oil is hot add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
- Add the chopped onion , asafetida and mix well to cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the green peas and cook until the green peas is cooked well.
- Add chopped tomatoes, red chili powder, Garam masala/Pav bhaji masala ,turmeric powder and cook until the tomatoes mashes up.
- Add 2 cups of water and let it come to boil.
- Now add the baby potatoes and cook for 5 to 6 minutes so that it absorbs the curry into it.
- You can also add mashed potatoes instead of baby potatoes if you dont have baby potatoes at home.
- Garnish with Cilantro
- Baby potato green peas curry is ready to serve.
