Egg Manchurian

Manchurian is a Chinese recipe.Though chinese ingredients, the seasoning is done to suit Indian flavor. Manchurian can be prepared in either way gravy or dry. The main ingredients used in Manchurian are corn flour, cauliflower or cabbage or chicken or egg along with Chinese/Indian spices and variety of sauces. Its prepared in 2 stages deep frying corn flour dipped egg and in second stage seasoning with spices and sauces.I had prepared Egg Manchurian and posting the recipe here...

Serves : 2


Egg fry:
Boiled Eggs -2
Corn Flour -1/2 tablespoon
Rice flour -1tspoon
Red chilli powder 1/2 tspoon
Garlic ginger paste -1 spoon
Salt as per taste
Food color -1 pinch [Optional]
Oil for deep frying

For the sauce:

Oil -3 tspoons
Chopped garlic-3 tspoon
Ginger Paste-1/4 tspoon
Green chillies chopped-2
Chopped onions or spring onions -1
Soya sauce-1/4 tspoon
Tomato ketchup-2 tspoons
Red chilli sauce-2 tspoons
Salt as per taste


  1. Corn flour,Rice flour, ginger garlic paste,red chilli powder,food color, small quantity of water and salt in a bowl. Mix it well. Add the cut pieces of boiled eggs and make sure that a thin/thick layer of batter is coated on eggs.
  2. Heat oil for deep frying  pan. Fry corn flour coated egg until it reaches golden color and take it out from the oil.
  3. Sauce: Take 3 tspoons of oil in pan, add chopped onion, chopped garlic, chopped capsicum, ginger paste, chopped green chilli, salt as per taste, tomato ketchup, soya sauce, chilli sauce, stir well and boil. 
  4. Then add deep fried egg and mix well with spices and sauces added in step 3. cook for 3 more minutes and its done.
