Aloo Palak/Potato spinach

Potato palak is a tasty recipe which can be prepared in just 15 minutes. It makes a nice combination for roti, naan, chapati and also as a side dish for lunch or dinner. The potato palak prepared can be spread on toasted bread and prepare a yummy  sandwich. The recipe is described below.

Ingredients:

Chopped Potato -2 cup
Chopped Tomato -1/2 cup
Chopped Onion-1/2 cup
Chopped Palak/Spinach -3cups
Red chilli powder -1/2tspoon
Black pepper powder -1/4tspoon
Salt as per taste
Oil -1/2 tablespoon
Mustard seeds -1/4tspoon
Turmeric powder -1/4tspoon

Method:

  1. Take a kadai/wok, add oil -when oil is hot , add Mustard seeds ,chopped onion and potatoes. Saute well for 5 minutes.
  2. Add Spinach and salt. Close the lid and cook well.
  3. Add tomatoes, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, turmeric powder. Mix well and cook.Garnish with cilantro if required.
