Tomato Soup

Tomato soup is a very refreshing one to start with the dinner or lunch. Tomato soup is prepared using tomatoes and carrot along with very light spices. 
I had prepared tomato soup using very easy method and it came out to be a delicious one.

Preparation time:45 min
Servings: 5-6 cups of soup

Ingredients:
Ripe tomatoes - 3
Carrot - 2 [medium size]
Basil/Tulsi leaves -little quantity
Chopped onion-2tspoon
Cumin seeds -1tspoon
Bay leaf -1/2
Chopped Garlic - 5cloves
Butter - 1 tablespoon
Corn flour - 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Black pepper very little

Method:

  1. Heat 3 tspoons of butter in a pan, add bay leaf,cumin seeds, chopped onion,chopped carrot, chopped tomatoes, salt, basil,chopped garlic,black pepper powder.
  2. Add 3-4 cups of water and let the tomatoes and carrot get completely cooked. Transfer this to a blender, make puree, strain the puree.
  3. Take a kadai, add small quantity of butter. 
  4. Add the tomato carrot puree.
  5. Add corn flour paste [in a bowl take a tspoon of corn flour and add water to make it thin paste] and let it boil for around 4 to 5 minutes.
  6. The tomato soup is ready to serve, can add slices of dry bread or soup crisps in it.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
