Aloo Jeera

Aloo Jeera
A combination of Potatoes with cumin seeds.It is a very simple dish prepared to eat as a side dish for rice with sambar or rasam or along with rotis/chapathi/naan.

Preparation Time: 20minutes
Servings : 1 cup per serving

Boiled potatoes cut into cubes- 4 cups
Chopped onion-1/2 cup
Chopped tomatoes-1/4 cup
Chopped coriander leaves -2 tablespoon
Curry leaves -5 to 6
Chopped green chillies -4 
Salt as per taste
Cumin powder -1 tspoon
Mustard seeds -1/4 tspoon
Cumin seeds- 1 tspoon
Oil-2 tablespoon
Turmeric powder -1/4 tspoon

  1. Take a pan, add oil and when the oil is hot add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  2. Add curry leaves, chopped onion, chopped tomato and chopped green chillies. Mix well.
  3. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt.
  4. Add boiled cubes of potato, Chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  5. Cook for 5 minutes and serve with rotis or with rice sambar.
