Kesari Bath

Kesari Bath -It is a sweet dish and very yummy. Easy, simple and less ingredients recipe which can be prepared in 10 to 15 minutes kesari bath is prepared with fine rava/Sooji/Bombay rava along with Sugar and ghee as main ingredients. It is simlar to preparing of Upma. Upma will be salty whereas Kesari bath is sweet.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time 10 minutes
Serving : 1cup per serving



Ingredients:
Sooji/Fine rava -1 cup
Sugar-1 cup
Ghee 2 tablespoon
Water-3cups
Lemon yellow food color or saffron-Pinch /few strands
Cashewnuts-20 grams
Raisins- 20gms

Method:
  1. Take a non stick kadai, Add a tablespoon ghee.
  2. Add cashewnut and fry it, transfer to a bowl.
  3. Add Raisins and fry it , transfer to same bowl of cashewnut.
  4. Add Rava and fry until it becomes aromatic and becomes a light golden color.
  5. Keep 3cups of water to make warm in an another cooking bowl.
  6. Add this warm water and mix quickly and continuously to avoid lump formation of rava.
  7. Let it cook for sometime. If more water is required, add and continuously stir to cook.
  8. When water evaporates, add food color or Saffron and sugar, mix well and add ghee.
  9. If you are Adding saffron,add few strands of saffron in 10ml of water and let it soak for 10minutes. So keep the saffron ready before starting the preparation of Kesari bath.
  10. As you are using nonstick pan, once you add ghee, you can notice that the mixture doesnt stick to the pan.
  11. Now add Raisins and cashewnuts and mix well.
  12. The tasty Kesari bath is ready to serve.

Note:If you want to prepare Pineapple Kesari bath, add chunks of pine apple around 2 cups while frying the rava. Other steps are same.
But I will post the pineapple Kesari bath recipe too.
