Potato Slice Roast

Potato Slice roast is a side dish or snack for the tea time. Potato slices are half cooked and marinated with spices and corn flour and again cooked on a tava/pan to get tasty roast.
It is one of the simple, easy and tasty snack or side dish to prepare.

Preparation and cooking time: 20 minutes
Serving: 10 pieces per serving

For Marination:
Sliced Potato(with or without peel/skin) -2
Corn flour - 4 tspoon
Tamarind concentrate- 4tspoon
Red chilli powder-1 to 2tspoon
Black pepper powder-1 to 2tspoon
Turmeric powder- 1/8 tspoon
Ginger garlic paste- 1/2tspoon
Garam masala -1/2tspoon 
Food red color- pinch (optional)
Dhania/Coriander seeds powder-1/2 tspoon
Lemon juice-few drops
Salt to taste
Oil for shallow frying

  1. Wash the potatoes. You can use it with or without peeling the skin of potato.
  2. Cut the potatoes into round slices of about 0.5 cm thickness.
  3. Keep water to boil. when water is boiling add Potato slices and cook for 4-5 minutes. Then drain water, immediately add ice cold water on the potato slices to stop the cooking process.
  4. Dry off the potatoes on a cloth or tissue towel.
  5. Mix all the ingredients mentioned above and apply it on sliced boiled potatoes  to marinate. Keep it for an hour.
  6. On a nonstick pan or Roti Tava add 2 tspoon of oil spread well and place the potato slices.
  7. Close the lid and cook for 2 min, again turn on other sides, add oil and cook for 2 min. repeat the same and cook both the sides.
  8. Tasty potato slice roast is ready to serve.
