Restaurant Style Rava Idli

 

Restaurant Style Rava Idli is an easy breakfast. This can be prepared in few minutes. we use medium size rava for this recipe along with curd. The Rava Idly came out very soft and tasty. We enjoyed eating this, it was just like in restaurant. i prepared peanut chutney and fish curry for the Idli. you can prepare vegetable saagu or potato saagu along with peanut chutney it will taste really awesome. 
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Servings : 1 cup rava makes 10 idlis


Ingredients for Rava Idli:
Medium Rava or Bombay Rava - 1 cup
Curd -1 cup
water 1 cup
Oil-1 tablespoon
Chana dal -1 tspoon
Urad dal -1 tspoon
Mustard seeds -1/4 tspoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tspoon
Chopped coriander leaves -1 tablespoon
Chopped curry leaves -1 tablespoon
Chopped green chilli -1
Grated carrot -1 cup
Grated coconut - 1tablespoon
Salt as per taste
Baking soda -1/4 tspoon
Ghee fried cashew nuts -few

Method:
  1. Take a pan add oil, when the oil is hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds
  2. Add Chana dal and Urad dal and let it come to golden color but don't make it char.
  3. Add curry leaves, cilantro and green chillies mix well
  4. Add Rava and mix well, switch off the flame.
  5. Transfer it into a mixing bowl or vessel.
  6. Add grated carrot and grated coconut and some more cilantro.
  7. Mix everything well. Add 1 cup of curd and mix again well
  8. Close the lid and keep it for 10 minutes.
  9. After 10 minutes add 1 cup of water, salt as per taste and baking soda and mix well
  10. The batter is ready.
  11. Take the Idli making pot, Add some water and keep in high flame, let the water comes to boil
  12. To the Idli plate spread Oil and pour the Idli Batter.
  13. Keep this Idli plate in Idli cooking vessel and close the lid
  14. Cook for 10 minutes
  15. Serve the hot Idli along with chutney and saagu or non veg curry.
