Ingredients:
Paneer marination:
Paneer -400 grams
Curd/Yogurt -1 tablespoon
Red chilli powder -1 tspoon
Cumin powder - 2 tspoons
Salt -1/2 tspoon
Corn flour -2 tspoons (optional)
For green chilli paste:
Green chillies -4 to 5
Garlic -6 cloves
Ginger -1 inch
Mint leaves -1 cup
Coriander leaves /Cilantro -1 cup
Water -1 table spoon
For tempering and coating preparation:
Butter -1 tablespoon to 1 cup
Dry red chillies - 4
Curry leaves -1 cup
Dry red chillies - 4
Curry leaves -1 cup
Prepared Green chilli paste
Marinated Paneer
Chopped onion-1 cup
Finely chopped or crushed garlic -3 cloves
Pepper powder -1 tspoon
Garam Masala - 1 tspoon
Turmeric powder -1/4 tspoon
Corn flour -1 tspoon
Water -1 cup
Salt as per taste
Garnishing:
Lemon juice (optional)
Method:
- Cut the Paneer into cubes and marinate with the Curd, redchilli powder, salt and cumin powder. Corn flour is optional.
- Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- To a pan add butter/oil and put all the marinated paneer and shallow fry until it turns to be goldish color. Add more butter or oil when required so that it should not stick to the pan.
- You can also use Non stick pan to shallow fry the Paneer.
- After shallow frying transfer it to a plates or you let it stay in same pan.
- Make the green paste by adding all the ingredients mentioned above in green chilli paste section.
- Take a pan, add butter. Add dry red chillies and curry leaves.
- Add green chilli paste and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add the crushed salt, garlic and chopped onion. cook for 2 minutes
- Add turmeric powder, garam masala and 1 cup of water.
- Close the lid and cook .
- Keep stirring in between until the water evaporates and becomes thin paste consistency.
- At this point add shallow fried paneer and gently make a coat of the paste on the paneer.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and lemon juice.
- The tasty Green chilli paneer will be ready to serve.
