Potato, Chickpeas & Jackfruit seeds Gravy

This gravy or curry is prepared with potato, chickpeas, jackfruit seeds along with spices and curd. This is similar to Rajma masala or channa masala.
I tried adding potato and jackfruit seeds to it and it made a good combination. The detail recipe is described below.
This makes a good side dish for chapathi, roti and poori
Preparation time:40 minutes
Servings: 10

Boiled Chickpeas -200g [overnight soak the chickpeas, Cook with salt and water for 1whistle in cooker]
Boiled Potato thick slices/pieces -1cup [Peel the skin of boiled potatoes and make thick pieces]
Boiled jack fruit seeds [Place the seeds with water and seeds in pressure cooker and cook for one whistle]
Chopped Onion-1
Curry leaves
Chopped Coriander leaves
Ginger garlic paste -1tspoon
Red chilli powder -2tspoon
Cumin Powder- 1tspoon
Coriander powder -1tspoon
Garam masala or chicken masala -2tspoon
Turmeric powder -1/4tspoon
Salt-as per taste
Oil -1tablespoon

  1. In a Pan take oil, when its hot add chopped onion,ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder,Kasuri methi, tomato, salt and cook it by stirring in between by closing the lid.
  2. Add red chilli powder,jeera powder, dhaniya powder, Garam masala/chicken masala, coriander leaves and mix well and fry for few more minutes.Switch off the stove and add curd and mix well.Then again switch on the stove.
  3. Add a glass of water boiled, chickpeas along with water used to boil, Potatoes, jackfruit seeds and mix well and cook until chickpeas, potato and jackfruit absorb the spices and for desired consistency  gravy.
