Pesarattu is very famous in Andhrapradesh, India. They prepare it very tasty. Pesarattu is a dosa prepare using moong dal/Pesarabele. Main ingredient is Green gram along with onion, rice, green chilli, ginger, coriander leaves.It looks light green in color. I prepared it and tasted really good. The complete recipe is posted here.
Ingredients:
For Dosa:
Rice- 50gms [washed and Soaked in water for 5-6hours]
Moong dal/Green gram -250gms
Green chillies -2 to 3
Ginger -1/2inch
Jeera /cumin seeds -1tspoon
Ghee
Baking soda-1/4tspoon
Salt as per taste
For red chutney:
Roasted chana dal-2tspoon
Red chilli -4 to 5
Salt as per taste
Ginger-1/4 inch
garlic -2 clove

Roasted chana dal-2tspoon
Red chilli -4 to 5
Salt as per taste

Method:
- Rice and green gram should be soaked together for 5 to 6 hours . Add cumin seeds, ginger, green chillies along with rice and moong dal - grind to smooth paste/batter.
- After grinding keep it in warm place to get fermented. [Dont add salt and baking soda at this point] Batter should be not too thick or not too thin.
- Morning add the baking soda and salt a small amount , Mix well. Add water depending on the consistency required to make dosa.
- Red chutney: add all ingredients mentioned under red chutney in a mixie and grind along with small quantity of water.
- When tawa is hot , sprinkle some water, When water evaporates, just pour dosa using the batter [spread it in circular motion] apply lightly red chutney, add ghee and chopped onion all over the Dosa. Close the lid for a min and remove dosa from tawa. Cook on one side only.
- Enjoy dosa with chutney, sambar. mashed potato palya.
