Chicken Fry in Biryani Style

 

Chicken Fry in Biryani Style: I have taken whole chicken pieces and cooked in the same way we prepare Biryani, but with little bit of Changes. This is very tasty dish. we can mix it with rice and eat or also serve it as side dish for Chapathi, roti, Naan and also rice and rasam. the full recipe description is here.

Servings: For 7 to 8



Ingredients:

Chicken pieces -1kg
Chopped Onion -2 cups
Chopped Tomato -3 cups
Chopped mint leaves -1/2 cup
Chopped Cilantro - to garnish
Green chillies -2
Ginger garlic paste -1 table spoon
Bay leaves - 2 
Cloves - 5
Cinnamon -2 inches
Cardamom -2
Star Anise - 2 to 3
Turmeric Powder -1/4 teaspoon
Coriander powder -2 teaspoons
Garam/Biryani Masala Powder - 2 teaspoons
Red chilli powder - 2 teaspoons
Salt as per taste
Food color - pinch (optional)
Yogurt -3 table spoons
Oil -2 table spoons
Lemon juice -2 teaspoons or half lemon juice

Method:
  1. When oil is hot add all dry spices - cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves and star anise
  2. Also add Green chillies and ginger garlic paste. Stir until raw smell of ginger garlic fades away
  3. Add Chopped onion and Turmeric powder, stir for 3 minutes
  4. Add washed and cleaned Chicken pieces. Mix well.
  5. Add Mint leaves , tomato and all dry powder spices - salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder and biryani masala
  6. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes 
  7. Sim the stove flame and add Yogurt and mix well 
  8. Mix everything well and allow it to cook for 10 minutes with closed lid and stir in between by opening the lid.
  9. Switch off the stove add Lemon juice and garnish with Cilantro.
  10. Chicken fry in Biryani Style is ready to serve.
