Mango Pickle

Raw mango pickles are always delicious and mouth watering. The pickle is prepared very easily with very few ingredients. I have prepared small quantity, while preparing large quantity of pickles just increase the quantity of ingredients. Mango season is starting, prepare your home made pickles and enjoy. 
Preparation time: 30min
Servings : 1 spoon per serving

Big Raw Mango -1
Red chilli powder -5tspoons
Salt - 2 tspoons
Oil -1tablespoon
Turmeric powder- 1/4tspoon
Mustard seeeds -1tspoon
Methi seed/Fenugreek seeds-7
Garlic -10 cloves


  1. Cut mango to required size. Crush  mustard seeds to coarse powder. Crush fenugreek seeds to powder.
  2. Take a big Mixing bowl add Raw Mango pieces, Salt, Red chilli powder, Mustard powder, Fenugreek seeds powder. Mix well. close the lid of container. Keep it for 1 hour.
  3.  After an hour add the oil [Oil must be heated and cooled] to the prepared mixture. Add the raw garlic pieces. Leave it for a day in airtight container or can use instantly.
  4. Let the container stay for 2-3 days in room temperature, so that the Mangos absorb the spices and salt well.. Later store in refrigerator to preserve the crispiness of Raw mango and for more shelf life.
  5. Note: I used sunflower oil, it tasted excellent.  Most of the pickles preparation is done using gingelly oil. If it gingelly oil, no need of heating, it can be used directly.
