Ingredients:
For tempering:
Murmura -200 gms
Oil -5 tspoons
Hing/Asafoetida
Red chillies- 2
Lightly Crushed garlic -20 cloves
Bengal gram -1 tablespoon
Mustard seeds
Cumin seeds
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder
Red chilli powder -2 tspoons or less
Salt as per taste
Garnishing:
Chopped onion
Chopped tomato
Chopped cilantro
Mixture
Method:
- Take a big mouth vessel/wok, add oil-when oil is hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,Asafoetida, red chillies, Garlic, curry leaves, bengal gram, turmeric powder. Saute so that garlic and bengal gram becomes lightly crisp.
- Add murmura, Red chilli powder, salt. Mix thoroughly well until murmura becomes crisp. Let it cool.Store it in a well closed container
- When you like to eat Bhel, Just transfer small amount of stored murmura into a bowl. Add chopped onion, tomato, cilantro and mixture and enjoy the dry bhel.
