Ingredients:
Puffed Rice/Gatti Avalakki - 250gms
Chopped onion-1/2 cup
Chopped Tomato -1/4 cup
Chopped coriander leaves-1tablespoon
Chopped capsicum-1/4 cup
Slit green chillies -4
Frozen green peas -1/4cup [optional]
Chopped carrot/green beans - very little quantity [optional]
Chopped potato -small quantity [optional]
Mustard -1/4tspoon
Jeera/ Cumin seeds-1/4tspoon
Curry leaves
Oil -3tspoons
Salt as per taste
Method:
- Take a colendar [a vessel with holes], add avalakki, wash it well under the tap for 1 minute and keep it aside. water will get drained and avalakki will become soft.
- Take a pan, add oil when oil is hot, add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilli, onion , salt ,turmeric powder, frozen green peas. potato, carrot, tomato and cook them well.
- Add avalakki/puffed rice and saute for 2 minutes. Garnish with cilantro. Poha will be ready to serve.
- A chutney or may fritters makes a great combination to the poha
