Plantain/Raw Banana Fry

Plantain/Raw banana fry is a an enjoyable dish, It stands different from usual cooking of plantain as curry/Palya. It is a dry dish and enjoyable as snacks or side dish for Rice and Sambar. The recipe include very less ingredient to make a tasty dish. Detailed recipe is here , prepare and enjoy.
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Serving:1 cup per serving

Raw banana - 1[ Peeled the skin and Cut into small pieces]
Chopped cilantro -1/4 cup
Mustard seeds-1/4 tspoon
Cumin seeds -1/4 tspoon
Red chilli powder -1 tspoon
Cumin Powder- 1/2 tspoon
Dhaniya/Coriander seeds powder -1/2 tspoon
Vegetable masala -1 tspoon [optional/ any Brand]
Garam masala -1/2 tspoon
Turmeric powder -1/4 tspoon
Ginger garlic paste -1 tspoon
Asafoetida/hing- pinch
Salt-as per taste
Chat powder [optional]
Corn flour -1/4 tspoon [optional]
Oil -3 tablespoon

  1. In a pan take oil, heat, Add Mustard seeds, cumin seeds and Asafoetida.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 minute.
  3. Add the Chopped plantain. Give a quick mix.
  4. Quickly add salt, Corn flour, Red chilli powder, Cumin powder, Coriander powder, garam masala,vegetable masala
  5. Mix well and close the lid.
  6. In low flame cook for 5 minutes minutes closing the lid.
  7. Stir in between until the plantain is cooked well. it cooks it 5 to 6 minutes.
  8. Then add chopped cilantro,mix well and fry for few more minutes and switch off the flame.
  9. Tasty and crispy plantain fry is ready to serve.
