Avarekaalu/Hyacinth beans -Avalakki/Poha Mixture

Surti papdi/Hyacinth beans/Avarekaalu is very famous beans in india, which is liked by almost everyone over there. Avarekaalu and Avalakki/Poha mixture is very crispy and tasty refreshing snack along with coffee/tea in evening. You can serve this to your guests and they will like it. This snacks is very easy to prepare with very less ingredients. Prepare at home and Kids will love to eat it too.


Preparation time: 20 minutes
Servings - 6 cups

Ingredients:
Deskinned Hyacinth beans/Avarekaalu -3 cups
Dry groundnut -1cup
Poha/Avalakki/puffed rice -1.5 cup
Roasted gram -1/2 cup
Curry leaves
Salt as per taste
Red chilli powder -1 tspoon
Oil for deep frying

Method:
  1. To de-skin the Hyacinth beans/Avarekaalu - Soak the beans in water overnight. Morning take each bean and press it, it gets deskinned.
  2. Use a large mesh laddle while deep frying so that it will be easy to remove the beans, poha, curry leaves, groundnuts and roasted gram from oil.
  3. Heat the oil.
  4. Place beans to the mesh laddle and place it in hot oil. once its crispy remove it.Transfer to a bowl.
  5. Do the same for groundnuts, curry leaves, roasted gram dal. Be careful while frying curry leaves as it may splatter hot oil.
  6. While frying thick poha, be quick as it cooks in few seconds.
  7. Transfer everything to a mixing bowl, add salt and red chilli powder and its ready to serve.
