Spicy Dal

Spicy Dal is a very delicious recipe along with rice.Making a tasty and spicy dal is very easy. Mainly for those beginners to learn cooking can start from this basics. It is prepared with toor dal, green chillies, coriander leaves and tomatoes. Quick dish to prepare urgently.The description to prepare is provided below.
Preparation time: 30 min
Servings: For 5 cups of rice

Toor Dal - 4 tablespoons
Green chilli - 4
Coriander leaves - 1 cup
Tamarind -1 marble size
Turmeric powder -1/4tspoon
Water Required amount -Around 3 small glasses.

For Tadka/Tempering:

Oil -4 tspoon
Mustard seeds -1/4 tspoon
Cumin seeds-1/2 tspoon
Crushed garlic -6 cloves
Curry Leaves
Salt as per taste

  1. Add Toor dal, green chilli, tomato, tamarind, coriander leaves and water to pressure cooker. Cook for 5-6 whistles. When the pressure subsides, open the lid. Mash the dal using a whisk/ Wooden whisk.
  2. Take a sauce pan/cooking bowl add oil, When oil is hot add all the ingredients mentioned for tadka.
  3.  Add the Dal mixture and salt and bring to boil for few minutes. 
  4. Dal is ready serve , hot and tasty.
