Quail Chops fry

Quail chops fry, its a yummy dish. I loved it a lot and ate crazily. Quail is a mid sized bird, farm raised quails birds are filled with protein and essential vitamins and minerals, which makes them a nutritious type of poultry. Its not a commonly sold poultry, but if you get the quails do try the recipe. I prepared Quail chops with Mandya style recipe. Mandya is place in Karnataka, India. They prepare non vegetarian dishes very tastily. The chops fry is usually prepared with chicken or mutton, but I thought to give a try with quail with some variations. Main ingredients are Quail,                                                                              green chillies, onion, spices and coconut.Let us see how to prepare it.

Preparation time: 45 minutes
Servings: 2 quails in one servings

Ingredients:
Whole Quails, head off -6
Onion sliced-1
Turmeric powder-1/4tspoon
Red chilli powder -/2 tspoon
Salt as per taste
Coriander powder-1 tspoon
Oil - 1 or 2 tablespoon

Masala:
Onion-1/2
Green chillies-2
Tomato-1
Garlic-10 cloves
Ginger-1 inch
Whole pepper -5
Cinnamon-1 inch
Cloves- 2 or 3
Coriander leaves/cilantro -1/2 cup

Method 1:

  1. Quail has hard meat, so Add water and salt to the quail ,cook it in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles in medium flame.
  2. Grind the ingredients mentioned in masala to get rough or smooth paste.
  3. Heat the oil, add sliced onion, fry it to become transparent.
  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder. Mix well
  5. Add cooked quail along with stew and Masala.
  6. Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Quail chops is ready to serve.
Method 2:
  1. Take pressure cooker, heat the oil.
  2. Add sliced onion, fry it to become transparent.
  3. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
  4. Add quails and grinded Masala.
  5. Close the lid and cook for 4 to 5 whistles.
  6. Quail chops is ready to serve.
