Cranberry beans/Butter beans is a take dish which is a good accompaniment with roti, naan, paratha and chapathi. This can also make a rice good combination for rice. Main ingredients are Butter beans, onion, tomato, garlic ginger and spices. Prepare this when you get butter beans from market.

Butter beans -2 cups
Chopped Onion-1
Chopped Tomato-1
Curry leaves -6
Mustard seeds-1/4 tspoon
Cumin seeds -1/4 tspoon
Chopped Coriander leaves
Ginger garlic paste -1 tspoon
Red chilli powder -2 tspoons
Cumin Powder- 1 tspoon
Coriander powder -1 tspoon
Garam masala -2 tspoons
Turmeric powder -1/4 tspoon
Curd-2 tspoon [optional]
Salt-as per taste
Oil -1tablespoon

Method:
- Cook the beans in some quantity of water, by adding very small quantity of salt. or can cook in pressure cooker for a whistle.
- Heat the oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves [be careful curry leaves splatter in hot oil], chopped onion,ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder. tomato and salt.
- Cook well until tomato gets mashed up.
- Add boiled beans and other dry spices mentioned above.Mix well.
- Now addition of curd, If you are adding curd. switch off the flame so that mixture becomes warm. Add curd and mix well. Then switch on the flame.
- Add water to get the desired gravy consistency.
- Cook well. Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Cranberry beans gravy ready to serve.
