Drumstick Curry

Drumstick curry prepared in my home style. This dish is a very tasty one and makes a good acompaniment with rice, rasam/dal. The main ingredients are drumsticks, onion, tomato, red chilli powder, giner garlic paste and pepper powder. Prepare this delicious recipe at home.

Ingredients:
Drumsticks- 4 [Cut to 2 inches length]
Mustard seeds- 1/4tspoon
Cumin seeds -1/4tspoon
Chopped Coriander leaves -3tspoons
Chopped Tomato-2
Chopped onion-1/2
Finely Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
Garlic Ginger paste -2tspoons
Red chilli powder-1.5tspoon
Pepper powder-1/4tspoon
Cumin powder-2 tspoon
Turmeric powder-pinch
Garam masala - 2tspoon
Salt as per taste
Oil-1 tablespoon

Method 1:

  1. Take a cooking pan, Add oil. When oil is hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped onion, chopped tomato,ginger garlic paste and  drumsticks. Mix it well for few minutes. 
  2. Add salt and water to immerse drumsticks. So that drumsticks get cooked well.Close the lid- cook it for 12-15 minutes.
  3. When the drumsticks are cooked well -Add turmeric powder, grated coconut, Cumin powder, red chilli powder, Pepper powder, garam masala powder, Salt as per taste
  4. Mix well and cook for few more minutes. Drumstick curry will be ready.
Method 2:

  1. Grind the coconut, whole pepper, garlic, ginger and tomato to get a rough paste.
  2. Take a cooking pan, Add oil. When oil is hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped onion,  and  drumsticks. Mix it well for few minutes. 
  3. Add salt and water to immerse drumsticks. So that drumsticks get cooked well.Close the lid- cook it for 12-15 minutes.
  4. Add the Paste of coconut masala, garam masala, red chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and mix well
  5. Cook for few more minutes and Drumstick curry will be ready to serve.
