Besan Chutney

Besan chutney is usually as Bombay chutney or junka. Its a very quick side dish for chapathi or roti and can be done very easily in just few minutes.The tasty will be yummy. The gram flour is cooked along with onion, tomato and green chilli using some quantity of water.

Ingredients:
Gram flour/Besan -4tspoons in water [Thin paste]
Salt as per taste
Chopped green chillies -1or 2
Chopped onion -1
Chopped tomato -1
Chopped cilantro -1
Curry leaves
Mustard seeds -1/4tspoon
Asafoetida/Hing -pinch
Turmeric powder -1/4tspoon
Oil -4tspoons

Method:

  1. Mix besan with water to make thin paste.
  2. Take a small wok/cooking vessel, add oil, when oil is hot, add hing, mustard seeds,green chillies, onion, curry leaves. Saute for few minutes.
  3. Add tomato, Turmeric powder, salt. Pour the thin paste of gram flour and stir continously to avoid the formation of lumps. if necessary add water.
  4. Make chutney of required consistency. Good with roti, chapathi, wheat dosa...
