Mackerel Rava Fry

Mackerel fish is a very tasty variety in fishes. It can be prepared in a different ways and it still tastes awesome. We can use any fish to prepare Rava fish fry, i have used Mackerel. Rava fish fry is very famous in Mangalore and they prepare it amazing taste. I also prepared and it turned out very tasty dish. 

Preparation time: 10minutes
Serves: 5

For Marination:
Cleaned and cut fresh Mackerel fish -  15pieces [can take whole fish also -6]
Tamarind Concentrate-1table spoon
Red chilli powder-5tspoon
Black pepper powder-2tspoon
salt-as per taste
Turmeric powder-1/4tspoon
Onion -coriander leaves paste- 3tspoons
Ginger garlic paste- 1/2tspoon
Garam masala -1/2tspoon
Lemon juice-2tspoons
Corn starch-2tspoons
Salt to taste
Oil for shallow Frying
Rava for coating the marinated fish


  1. Mix all the ingredients mentioned above along with fish to marinate. Keep it for 1 to 2 hours.
  2. On a non stick tava add little oil. When oil is hot - Take marinated fish pieces coat it with rava [Take rava in a plate so that coating the fish becomes easy]. Place it on tava and cook on both sides.Note: Instead of fish pieces ,we can use whole fish also.
