Lady's finger/Bendekaayi palya

Lady's finger is a very healthy vegetable with  lot of nutrients. We can prepare lady's finger in a variety of ways, but when we need for roti or chapathi this is how we can prepare it in a easy and quick way. The description of the recipe is given below. Do check.

Servings: 4

Lady's finger -500gm
Chopped Onion -1
Chopped Tomato-1/2
Chopped Coriander leaves- 2tspoon
Red chilli powder -1/2tspoon
Salt as per taste
Curry leaves
Mustard seeds-1/4tspoon
Oil -1/2tablespoon


  1. Clean and cut the ladies finger to small pieces. Place them on a hot tava, add little salt and stir continuously,so that the slime of lady's finger will be gone. Switch off the flame.
  2. Take a pan ,add 1/2 tablespoon of oil, When oil is hot add mustard seeds, curry leaves, onion-stir well to fry.
  3. Add the dry roasted lady's finger and salt and let it cook for sometime.
  4. Add tomatoes, red chilli powder and mix. Let it cook for 5 mins with closed lid and its ready to serve.
