Meenu Thale gojju/Fish head curry

Fish head is favorite of many people and I have seen them purchasing only fish head sometimes to prepare a tasty tangy curry from it. So here is the recipe for preparing fish head curry or gojju in Kannada. I am also one off those who likes fish head a lot. As fish head takes more time to get cooked when made on pan, and sometimes it becomes under cooked. it always better to cook it in a gravy curry or gojju. Try the recipe and you will love it.

Ingredients:
Fish head and extra pieces- 300gm
Onion-1
Coriander leaves
Tomato- 1
Tamarind concentrate-3tspoon
Crushed garlic -12
Red chilli powder-2tspoon
Jeera powder-1/2 tspoon
Black pepper powder-1/2tspoon
Garam masala powder- 1 tspoon
Turmeric powder-pinch
Salt to taste

Oil-2tspoon

Method:

  1. Chop onion, tomato, coriander leaves into small pieces.
  2. In a pan add oil. when oil is hot add onion, tomato, turmeric, Crushed garlic, salt, tamarind concentrate and cook for few minutes.
  3. Add red chilli powder, black pepper powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, salt as per taste and one glass water.
  4. Mix well and close the lid to boil for 5 min. Add the fish head and other pieces. Close the lid and cook it for 10 minutes by turning on both sides.
