Bangalore Style Dahi puri


Dahi puri is done in similar way like masala puri chat using same ingredients, but executing the recipe and taste will be different. We usually eat chats outside and spend lot of money on it. Preparing at home is always hygienic and healthy and of course can save lot of money and whole family can sit and enjoy the chat in a beautiful evening. Sitting together and eating always increase the bond between the members in family. In my home we all sit together and share what all happened whole day. A quality time  should be spent with family, so why not with a chat.  

Preparation time: 2 hours
Serves-10-12

Ingredients:
For masala:
Onion chopped -1/2
Chopped tomatoes-1
grated coconut -1/2 cup
Toor dal boiled -1/2 cup
Corainder leaves
Green chilli -1
Ginger -1/2 inch
Garlic-5
Clove Cinnamon powder-1/4tspoon
Garam masala-1tspoon
Redchilli powder -2tspoon
Jeera powder-1tspoon
Dhaniya powder-1/2tspoon
Chat powder -2tspoon
Panipuri masala -1tspoon
Black salt-1tspoon
Salt as per taste

To Garnish and serve:
Dahi/curd
Chopped onion
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped coriander leaves
Boiled green peas/chickpeas
Boiled and chopped potato and mix with redchilli powder and salt.
Sev as much required
Sweetness - Tamarind concetrate + jaggery powder/sugar + 1/2tspoon of jeera powder

Method:


  1. Take a pan and add 2tspoon of oil and the fry the onion, coconut, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic. Add all these fried items, tomatoes, boiled toor dal, water into blender and grind it to get smooth paste.
  2. Take a vessel and transfer the masala to it, add red chilli powder, dhaniya powder, clove cinnamon powder, jeera powder, garam masala, chat powder and bring to boil for 10 min. then add black salt and switch off the flame. Check the taste to adjust the salt. Masala for Dahi puri is ready
  3. Follow the procedure to prepare pooris from my page or just get pooris from stores.
  4. Take a plate, Make hole in the pooris, Fill it with  more amount of Potato mix , masala and small amount of all garnishing items. At the end add more amount of curd and serve.Tasty Dahi puri will be ready.
